I got to fulfill a longtime dream recently. My husband and I traveled to San Diego for our church denominational meeting, and on the way, we got to watch the sun rise over Grand Canyon. 

(South Rim, Yavapai Point)  It was indescribably beautiful. We stayed from 20 min before the moment of sunrise until about 1.5 hours after. The sunrise was lovely, and then we saw the light gradually move into the canyon, revealing the details of the rock formations. Below are some photos that I took. They barely do justice to the day.
